Jose R. Martinez, Jr.

Jose Martinez uses his experience in litigating complex commercial disputes and his training in corporate transactional law to provide his clients with innovative cost-effective solutions to all manner of litigation. Jose began his practice as an associate at a national insurance defense firm, focusing on the areas of insurance coverage, general liability defense, and labor and employment defense. He eventually transitioned away from the insurance sector to practicing construction law and commercial litigation at a boutique firm located in Coral Gables, Florida. A lifelong native of Miami, Florida, Jose attended Coral Gables Senior High School in Coral Gables, Florida, before completing his undergraduate studies in Sociology and Anthropology, magna cum laude, at Florida International University. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Jose spent two years as a freelance music journalist, based in Miami, before attending Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. Thereafter, Jose attended Duke University School of Law, in Durham, North Carolina, where he obtained his LLM in Law and Entrepreneurship. In his spare time, Jose is father to a mini Australian Shepherd named Truffle, and is passionate about his hobbies of collecting music on vinyl, antique military firearms, computing and tennis.
